AHG State and Regional chapters are alive and well with lots of exciting events planned for 2010. To learn more about individual chapters or to be placed on their e-mail lists, e-mail the Chapter contact listed below. Check this listing frequently to find out what is happening and learn how to find other herbalists in your area.

California (San Diego)
The San Diego Chapter consists of about 30 AHG members and is meeting regularly. Contact Joanne Odenthal at  joanne@plantwoman.com

California (San Francisco/Bay Area)
The newest AHG chapter is busy planning for the upcoming year. Meetings are held in Berkeley at the Ohlone Herbal Center, 1250 Addison Street. The center is one block south of University Ave. and just a short walk from the North Berkeley BART. Georgia (Atlanta)
AHG’s oldest chapter has been meeting since 1998 to increase awareness about medicinal herbs and herbalism. Activities include monthly gatherings, plant walks and workshops about all things herbal. We currently have 80 people on our membership list with a core of about 30 highly active members.  We are an open, informal, and friendly group that welcomes members and non-members at our monthly meetings and gatherings.
 
Meetings and held the third Sunday of the month at 6:00 PM at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens in metro Atlanta. No meeting in November and a special Holiday Party in December.

Iowa (Des Moines)
Meetings are held the first Thursday of each month at 5:30 pm in the classroom at Ancient Ways Store, 1700 Woodland Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa 50309-3322. Pennsylvania (Eastern Region)

Texas
The TxAHG chapter is the host committee for the upcoming annual conference in October. Volunteers are needed to help welcome the AHG to Texas. On-going activities include a practitioner’s circle, plant walks and various social events. Contact them for more details.

Washington
 
This chapter describes itself as a “seed-in-motion” organization that holds quarterly meetings at locations around the state. Most meetings are in Western Washington at Bastyr University (north of Seattle), Tacoma or Olympia. The chapter plans to expand the location of meetings and events to include the eastern part of the state. (Any AHG members who would like to get involved are invited to contact the WA AHG, see details below.)
